๐‼️ADDRESSING THE CARNAL MIND
⏳ TICK TOCK, CARNAL CHRISTIAN! STOP WITH THE EXCUSES! ⏰
๐จ WARNING: PROCRASTINATION KILLS SPIRITUAL GROWTH!
Ever caught yourself saying, “I’ll get serious about God… later”? ๐ฌ “I just need to fix a few things first.” Or the classic “God understands my struggles.” We have all been there. The problem? Later never comes. And before you know it, you’re caught in a cycle of wanting to grow spiritually but never actually doing it. Sound familiar? ๐ค
You’re not alone. Many of us want to follow Jesus wholeheartedly, but there’s just one tiny problem: our flesh isn’t ready to cooperate. We crave the things of God, but at the same time, our worldly desires are holding us hostage. We tell ourselves excuses to justify why we aren’t fully committed. But let’s be real—excuses are just well-dressed lies.
So today, we’re ripping off the mask and exposing the TOP EXCUSES of the Carnal Christian—and why they need to stop NOW. Buckle up! ๐
๐ญ EXCUSE #1: "I’M NOT READY YET!"
This one is a classic. The idea that we need to "get ourselves together" before coming to God is one of the enemy’s favorite tricks. Newsflash: If we could fix ourselves, we wouldn’t need Jesus! ๐
๐น The truth: You’ll never be "ready" in your own strength. That’s why God’s grace exists! ๐ Come as you are, and let Him do the transformation. Stop waiting for a perfect moment—it doesn’t exist. Now is the time! (2 Corinthians 6:2)
๐ญ EXCUSE #2: "GOD KNOWS MY HEART… SO I’M GOOD!"
Oh, this one sounds so spiritual, doesn’t it? "God knows my heart, so He understands why I’m struggling." Of course, He does! But that’s not a free pass to keep living in disobedience. ๐ณ
๐น The truth: Yes, God knows your heart—but He also knows when you’re using that as an excuse to stay comfortable in sin. (Jeremiah 17:9) A sincere heart doesn’t just acknowledge sin, it fights to overcome it. Time to stop settling and start striving! ๐ช
⏰ EXCUSE #3: "I’LL CHANGE WHEN I’M OLDER…"
Ever heard the one that goes, “I’ll start taking God seriously when I’m married / have kids / retire.” Translation? “I still want to live my life my way first.” ๐ฌ
๐น The truth: Tomorrow isn’t promised. ๐จ Delaying obedience is still disobedience. You can’t expect to build a strong faith in the future if you’re ignoring God today. Proverbs 27:1 reminds us not to boast about tomorrow because we don’t know what’s coming next. Why risk it? Start now!
๐ฅ EXCUSE #4: "BUT EVERYONE ELSE IS DOING IT!"
Ah, the peer pressure pass. "It’s not that serious, look at other Christians! They’re doing it too!" ๐ง
๐น The truth: The standard for your faith isn’t other people—it’s Christ. (Romans 12:2) Just because culture normalizes sin doesn’t mean God does. Stop measuring your holiness by other flawed humans and start aiming for actual righteousness.
๐ก EXCUSE #5: "BUT I’M STRUGGLING…"
Let’s be real—we all struggle. We all have weaknesses. But there’s a difference between struggling and surrendering to the struggle. ๐ฎ๐จ
๐น The truth: God doesn’t expect perfection, but He does expect progress. (Philippians 1:6) Struggles are real, but so is His power to overcome them. Instead of using your struggle as an excuse, use it as a reason to depend on Him more!
๐ SO, WHAT NOW? HOW DO WE STOP BEING CARNAL?
Glad you asked! Here’s the game plan:
✔ Surrender DAILY. (Luke 9:23) The battle between flesh and Spirit is real. Win it by choosing God every day.✔ Feed your spirit MORE than your flesh. (Romans 8:5) You can’t expect to grow if you spend 10 hours on Netflix but only 10 minutes in prayer. ๐๐ฅ✔ Surround yourself with people who push you toward Christ. (Proverbs 27:17) Friends who make excuses for sin won’t help you grow—find those who challenge you to be better!✔ STOP WAITING! Choose God today. Right now. No more excuses.
⏳ FINAL WARNING: TIME IS RUNNING OUT!
This is not a drill! ๐จ The enemy wants you lukewarm, passive, and comfortable in sin. But Jesus is calling you higher. There’s no time for delay! Every moment wasted in carnality is a moment lost in kingdom purpose. So what’s it gonna be? More excuses? Or full surrender?
Tick. Tock. ⏰ The choice is yours.
